* * * * * * * * * * * * * Friendly reminder from the Stewardship Committee: The next Fundscrip order will be going in the August 29th. The deadline for cheques is Thursday, August 26th - 12 noon. Order forms will be available at the back of the church or in the church office. Please remember this is an ongoing fund raising project and your support is greatly appreciated. * * * * * * * * * * * * * The last Sunday of each month is Food Bank Sunday. Please remember those in our community who are less fortunate, and give as you can. Items always in need are canned meats & milk, soups, cereals, beans, macaroni, juices, tea and coffee.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * The Pastoral Care Committee is requesting assistance from members of the congregation by contacting the Church Office if there is someone they know from the congregation who is ill or in hospital.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * MacLennan Memorial Camp has begun its summer camping program. Registration is DOWN by 70 from last year. They ask that all parents, grandparents, or guardians please consider this wonderful opportunity to send youth to camp.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * Volunteers Are Needed!! First United is using the services of the John Howard Society - helping clients perform their community service hours by painting rooms in the church hall. If you are willing and able to help supervise this 'free labour' from people who have an incentive to be on their best behavior - would you please leave your name with the Church office.
